Every year, the MAA National Patient Conference brings together people from across Australia who share one common goal: to better understand myasthenia gravis and improve the lives of those affected by it.
This year’s conference features an outstanding line-up of neurologists, researchers, clinicians and patient advocates who are helping shape the future of MG care in Australia.
Whether you’re living with MG, caring for someone who is, or working in healthcare, you’ll hear practical, evidence-based information from experts who are at the forefront of diagnosis, treatment, research and patient support.
Learn From Australia’s Leading Experts
Throughout the day, you’ll hear from an exceptional panel of speakers, each bringing their own area of expertise and experience.
Leading neurologists including A/Prof Stefan Blum, Dr Katherine Buzzard, Dr Shadi El-Wahsh, Dr Laurie McLaughlin and A/Prof Stephen Reddel will share the latest developments in myasthenia gravis diagnosis, treatment and clinical care.
You’ll also hear from Dr Andrew Hunt, whose research into heat and its impact on people living with chronic health conditions is helping improve quality of life for many Australians living with MG.
Adding another unique perspective is Dr Craig Streatfeild, who combines professional expertise with lived experience of myasthenia gravis. His presentation will explore patient education, advocacy and the growing range of resources available to support people living with MG.

The conference program has been carefully designed around the issues that matter most to the MG community.
Throughout the day you’ll explore:
- Current and emerging MG therapies

Ask Questions That Matter to You
One of the highlights of the conference is the opportunity to participate in a dedicated Q&A session with the expert panel.
This is your chance to ask questions, hear different perspectives and gain greater confidence in understanding both current treatments and future developments in MG care.
